Westhaus is a Cape Town-based design collective dedicated to fostering sustainable living through the art and practice of architecture and design.

 

Rooted in a utopian vision, each of our projects becomes a distinct response to its users, climate, and contextual surroundings resulting in architecture that is as thoughtful as it is transformative.

Led by award-winning architect Leon van der Westhuizen, Westhaus places environmental and social sustainability at the core of its practice. Our design language is deeply inspired by nature, often blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces to create warm, sheltered courtyards and immersive environments that foster connection and wellbeing.

Interdisciplinary collaboration is central to our process. Working closely with designers, architects, end-users, and contractors, we develop integrated solutions that span architecture and urban design.
